Letter from our Principal
April 7th, 2020
Our prayer is that you and your family remain safe and healthy. Given the current circumstances, Mt. Moriah Christian Academy has no choice but to cancel fundraiser initiatives, which we hoped would help us cover expenses. To fill this funding gap, I am writing to ask you to contribute to an urgent $40,000 campaign: MMCA It takes a Village…
Over the past 40 years, I have been inspired not only by the resilience of our community but also by its generosity.
Today, I am asking for your help because the families most impacted by economic uncertainty cannot afford to have their children’s education become a victim of circumstance.
Our teachers have been working tirelessly to adapt our program of distance learning. We continue to focus on individualized instruction and Christian development as when we meet in person. Some immediate changes have included:
-
Adjusting our curriculum so that classes can be taught online.
-
Providing laptops to families that lacked funds for home technology.
-
Reaching out to ensure all families to provide prayer and support.
-
Adjusting tuition for any families affected by job losses and income reduction.
When our students face adversity, we teach them to rely on the Biblical principle of Charity. Today, I am asking the rest of our community to meet this moment in much the same way.
We can’t do this alone but with your support, we are confident the challenge to be met. Your generosity is more important than ever.
I look forward to staying in touch.
With best wishes always,
Rev. Jerry B. West
